Lab Software Installation Request

- If you would like software to be installed in any of our computer
labs, we require that you have at least as many licenses as there
are machines in the lab. We will not install software on only
a few machines in the lab.
- Any software that you wish to have installed in the computer
labs must run under the Microsoft Windows XP platform. We do not
have any Macintosh computers in our labs.
- If the software you wish to use needs to be setup to access
certain servers, or needs to be configured in a special way, you
must inform us of the specific settings so that your program may
work on our lab computers.
- If you are concerned about the hours with which the labs are
available to your students, please check our Lab
Hours. for the current operating hours of our labs.
- Please note that students are NOT allowed to install software
on the lab computers. Our servers are setup to prevent them from
doing so. If you have a program that you will have students run
off of diskette, we require that information as well, so our servers
will allow the students to run the software.
- If the software or the licenses are available for download over
the internet, you must download them yourself and hand the software
and licenses over to EllerIT. We will not do this for you.
- EllerIT reserves the right to refuse to install any software
that will conflict with our current lab images. EllerIT also reserves
the right to refuse to install software on any lab machines that
would cause there to be less than 20% free hard drive space.
- If you are requesting this software on behalf of an Eller College
faculty member, you must provide us with the name and contact
information for that professor to us.
These are the things which must occur in order for any
software installation to proceed:
- Complete the Software Installation Request Form.
- We must successfully contact the class instructor by phone,
e-mail or in person. This will happen within 3 university business
days.
- We must receive the software and the software licenses
before installation can proceed.
- If you are submitting a software request after the cutoff date,
we will attempt to install the software as quickly as our schedules
permit.
- Cutoff Dates are as follows:
- For Fall Semester - July 15th
- For Spring Semester - November 15th
- For Summer Sessions - April 15th
